UGC NET Exam is considered as one of the toughest exam. To get success in ugc net exam, you need a proper guidance coupled with lot of hard work and some tricky techniques. Whatever the subject is, the syllabus of ugc net is huge.

1. Syllabus and Exam Pattern

Before you set out to prepare, just go through the syllabus and exam pattern. This is very important steps should be taken because if you don’t know from where to start and where to end, you will never know where to go.

2. Stick to the basics

If I talk about English literature - Can you locate an author and his major works and the period in which he lived, if not then start reading immediately. Basics are a root so it is must to start from there.

3. Set of Good Reference Books

There are thousands of reference books available online or offline but you need to choose few of them. Before buying any book,

- Look over his content topics completely that it covers the whole syllabus or not.
- Ask to your friend that he has same book if yes then borrow it for one day and read it. If you find it appropriate, then buy it.

4. Make a proper time table

When you are preparing by yourself you need a proper time. UGC NET exam has three papers, Paper 1 ,2 & 3. You need to know in which paper or in which topic you are weak and you must work on that more. So, divide your time as per it and do not forget to follow the time table.

5. Don't Neglect Paper 1

Candidates do the mistakes of avoiding to neglect the paper1. Remember if you will not clear the paper 1, the later paper will not be evaluated at all. Practice MCQ as much as you can. Set a time limit and attempt the 75 questions and find out in how much time, you can attempt the questions. This section has no negative marking so we will take benefit of this.
